Eltham and an approach Winter (May 13, 2024)

Image
Where many of you are going into spring/summer. Here it's getting colder and more rainy. I've been grateful  to have been able to hear of all the things that have happened back home and am so glad at the good things that have happened. And I think of and pray for the hard times to get better. I don't particularly know why my writing has been so off and on. it could be some days just blur into others although, each is different from the other in so many ways. A brief description of the past week goes as follows This week was very good especially in comparison to previous weeks, Wednesday was good because we've been working on contacting all of our grey-Dots (not recently taught, too busy, etc.) Either before or after we go out during the day. On Friday we called one, Delila. And before we could even say anything she asked when church started and said that she would be there. And she was! We also met with lani, and her 2 daughters to set an appointment they also seemed ...

New area/whitewashing (April 1, 2024)

Just so you know whitewashing is when a Companionship of missionaries who have not been to an area go to a new area. In our case, there used to be Sister Missionaries here in Eltham. This week was sort of diffucult because so many people were out of town for easter we weren't able to meet as many people as i would have liked to. We were able to meet with the Coupers and both Elder Chesley and I felt like it was a good interaction. Coming from a much older area it fekt like i was actually avle to talk to the coupers and start to build that much needed connection. I've also been really trying to be up at 6.30  every day this transfer and so far ive been able to do that. We also had lunch with the second counsellor Brother Stuart. He is the father of a less active member in Seymour and because of the holiday he was going to be there at lunch. AND both of us have been in Seymour trying to visit him. Also while elder kimble and I were there the branch president had really been wa...

Two Weeks ago... (April 1, 2024)

(The week prior to the 18th of march) A good thing that happened this busy week was we were able to contact O'Ryan Miller who's been drastically overwhelmed with extra pressure from people like family and his pet dog. With his goal being, to keep them quiet. He told us that he'd be available in a few weeks so on our end we just have to remember him and keep in contact to set a time later to meet with him. Mostly we were focused on our new friend Erin. She was very open to learn more, as things pertain our Church. She asked questions such as are we required to not have tatoos. We shared a couple of scriptures talking over how God loves both us and every person. We used a variety of scriptures with her and we feel we should focus some xtra effort on so we aren't over zealous and too forthright. Although, regardless we want to be a good influence in her life. On Friday, one thing that we often do is play volleyball with the Tongans. This week however I felt like it was s...

Feed the Birds (tuppence a bag) (March 19, 2024

This pertains to the week of march 3-10 We, did a fair bit of finding this week, and while we were tracting we weren't able to find any new people that way. But on Saturday we were able to join the Seymour community page and made a short post about us. And just yesterday (Sunday 10th) got a response that holds some potential. We have set a time to meet and were able to briefly explain some of our beliefs. We were also able to meet with the mother of a part member family in Killmore and we talked with her and learned the reasons for why her daughter had not been taught recently (as she had been in the past). It seems that they just needs some nurturing until they are ready. They need to be supported until they do decide she's ready to be baptised. Tuesday we had interviews with President Thomas They went fairly well. I learned how important it is to make sure you treat everyone with respect. Although their behaviour may not make much sense to us, it does to them and we don't...
