The Past Few Week (June 10, 2024)

This has been one of the best transfers I've had. Being with Elder Danielson has been really good. Especially because he wants to work hard his last transfer. I think up to this point I want to care less what people think and I'm thinking about how Joseph Smith was told his name was to be had for good and evil. And I want to put forward my effort to keep pressing forward and living every day like its the day of the second coming.

On Tuesday's, while we're on out way back to our area, and that has been going really well. I also think that it shows that we want to work even though we know that's what we want to do it's good for people to see that desire to work.
Last week we were going back and stopped by a member who gave us a referral for one of his friends but he didn't seem interested at the time. On Thursday we made a lot of calls which made for an interesting experience there were a few people who weren't even who we were looking for. And Thursday we did our weekly planning and that was when we went to thst referral from Bro Mclean.
On Friday we met with an inactive member Brother and Sister T. That was pretty cool because on Sunday in ward council we mentioned thst we saw them and they were surprised to hear thst they were friendly to us. Which I guess means that we must have done a good job introducing ourselves. We also met with an old couple, N and K. We just talked with them and they had previously been messaging and talking with the sisters. She was super friendly as well but expressed disinterest as she is a member of the church of England she said.
This week i went on exchanges with Elder Ngametua (nā-may-tūa) from NZ but born in the cook islands. It was kind of weird for exchanges because we only had two proper conversations with people but we were constantly on the move it seemed. We met with an inactive member Bro. K. When we first got there the first thing he said was. "I don't know why you keep coming back, I haven't been into church for about four years now" and we just kept talking to him to get to know him better and we learned thst his son is a professional machanic for an Australian racing team. We also talked with him about the birds that he feeds in his yard. We just shared a simple testimony and let him get back to his day.
The other visit was with brother and sister M and it took a bit longer than would have been ideal, it was interesting because he kept sharing story after story, however in conjunction with that there was a lot of time and no chance to get a word in. One thing about driving in Australia in the winter is that you see a lot of misty patches of fog which is very different from living in a desert that is Utah.
Last week we did a service for one of our new members in a wheelchair and we were helping her to sort through her large storage shed looking through her paintings which was really fun because each one that we pulled out she would say somthing to the effect of "oh, thats the one of one of my good friends from way back when"

The best find was a sign that said.
"Beware of Territorial Rooster"
Which made me think of my four cousins Natalie, Luke, Gracie and Seth and their chickens
I'll see if I can get a picture next time.

The worst find was a dead rat which thankfully was not fresh. But unfortunately I was the one who was "lucky" enough to find it. With my bare hands nonetheless.
This did NOT remind me of my cousins (or any family member for that matter) but it did cause me to reflect fondly on the black plague which just so happened to be spread by fleas living on rats.

Okay, I know this may be getting tedious to read but although some days may feel monotonous to me the joy i feel is much worth it to see somone grow closer to becoming the best person they can be.
