Miracle Today May 1, 2023
Today (I'm writing on Wednesday so I don't forget) was probably one of the worst days of my mission. The morning was very slow and nobody seemed to want to talk to us. Even one of our friends slammed the door on us. As the day started to end, both me and Elder Taua wanted the day to be over and we had a long as bike ride so we were ready to accept defeat for the day and return for our flat. But we remembered that earlier that morning we had received a referral. We decided to stop by the house because we were in the area and we are told to respond within 24 hours to referrals. We said "hello how are you" "good how you" "good, good, that's awesome that your doing well, my friend and I were just in the area and we share messages on Jesus Christ, is that be something you would be interested in" and typically when we mention Jesus Christ people shut the door or say "I'm busy right now" or right now a really common one is "I'm sick, sorry" but this person, her name is Hannah, said "oh my gosh! We love Jesus, we are actually on the path to being baptised right now." She invited us in and we started talking and then she said "oh wait, let me get my sister" then we sat down and talked a bit about how they came to discover Jesus Christ. She told us that she had a dream and in her dream the moon was red and buildings were crumbling around her and during all the noise and destruction she heard a voice telling her to be baptized. After we heard her say this we really focused on the importance of baptism and it seemed that after everything we said they said "we were just talking about that" the Holy Ghost was so strong and I was able to explain what the book of Mormon was and we gave them one to read inviting them to pray about it, we suggested 3:Nephi chapter 11 which describes the coming of Christ in the Americas. both my companion and I came out feeling so happy and we said a prayer of thanks before riding our bikes home we were both stunned with how willing they were to let us in and be taught. The one funny thing was that we had to explain that not many people are as prepared as they are to learn. It turned the worst day into the best experience on my mission thus far. And to top it all off there was a beautiful sunset when we made it to the bikes.
