And The Rains Game Tumbling Down

 This week the rains came down and the floods came up, apparently it's rare to have this severe of Weather here in the summer but this week there was a pretty heavy storm that passed by. So much so that we had to pull over because we couldn't see anything other than the road lights. 


We are starting to pick up teaching again with GX., And he is really appreciative of us coming by. The last time we met with him was just this past week we had to cut it short because his dad stopped by for a visit and because of that we weren't able to set another time to meet with him yet, but we will continue to work with him. We were also able to meet with XX  in BXX. 
     One struggle we have with him is he enjoys talking about the gospel but he also likes to go on tangents which have minimal connection to the topic. Because of this Elder Taimi and I really need to focus on keeping the next discussion focused and to the point and avoid tangents ourselves. We have a lot of inactive members, and we are hearing from these inactive members that they want to come back but there is something preventing them from doing that. But we aren't able to determine from what they say and what we know to plan for them so we really need to work with the members nearby to help them feel welcomed back and wanted at church. 

   This week I noticed in 1st Nephi 5 that even Sariah complained because of her fear that her sons had died and they they would die in the wilderness. And I learned from these verses that it's okay to have doubts and if we can overcome these doubts we will be strengthened because of it.

1 Nephi 5 7-8

7. And when we had returned to the tent of my father, behold their joy was full, and my mother was comforted.
 
8. And she spake, saying: Now I know of a surety that the Lord hath commanded my husband to flee into the wilderness; yea, and I also know of a surety that the Lord hath protected my sons, and delivered them out of the hands of Laban, and given them power whereby they could accomplish the thing which the Lord hath commanded them. And after this manner of language did she speak.

  We had a baptism this Sunday so if you read any part of this, that will be the most exciting bit.. It's at the bottom. This week was a bit slow but I would still say it was good. One of us wasn't feeling well so getting out was a bit hard. Tuesday we had our District Council which we have each week. I gave our skills training about finding people to teach, I'm not sure how well I did but I felt like it was okay. The Past Few Week (June 10, 2024)

  This has been one of the best transfers I've had. Being with Elder Danielson has been really good. Especially because he wants to work hard his last transfer. I think up to this point I want to care less what people think and I'm thinking about how Joseph Smith was told his name was to be had for good and evil. And I want to put forward my effort to keep pressing forward and living every day like its the day of the second coming. On Tuesday's, while we're on out way back to our area, and that has been going really well. I also think that it shows that we want to work even though we know that's what we want to do it's good for people to see that desire to work. Last week we were going back and stopped by a member who gave us a referral for one of his friends but he didn't seem interested at the time. Horse on the Road

  Our friend down in Benalla, Michael still seems to be quite interested. We were going to invite him to church this week but he is down in Melbourne for a couple of weeks. We also had a lesson planned with our friend Robert but for some reason he won't answer phone calls or texts and we were unable to see him this week. On Friday we were able to meet with Geoff although he is having a hard time medically we were able to say a few words on the atonement and how he is not alone in his pain.  After meeting with Geoff we ran into an older gentleman who had some questions regarding the relationship of the Bible and The Book of Mormon which we were able to show a few scriptures that helped to show the Importance of having both together.  Last Monday we were driving to Wagga on for our district council on tuesday and everything was going smoothly.
