Adventures of Isaac the Great

  This week was busy but more with things outside of missionary work than usual (like an eye doctor appt. District council was quite good and I feel like the district has good unity with one another, You can definitely see the support that each of us has for one another and its really good to see. Out of all the things of being a district leader my favorite thing to see is that even though things are hard for certain areas each companionship is still wanting to work hard. It really helps to know that even if the numbers are low, if you are still willing to find and teach than you can show that through your work. We've been unable to contact our friend Zeppelin this week he's out of data on his phone and hasn't been home any of the times we stopped by this week. Our next goal with him is to be able to 1. get in contact with him and 2. get another means of contact that doesn't require mobile data so we can have more certain contact.'   Our biggest success was on Wednesday this week and on Saturday. Wednesday we met with both Linda and Zeppelin. (Our two friends on baptism date) with Zeppelin we had a tour of the meeting house and shared some of lesson 3. We also had Brother Saaid our ward mission leader there. I thought that that was particularly good because it allowed Zeppelin to see and meet someone with similarities in the church. With linda we taught her lesson 3 as well, with sister Thomas our ward missionary. We brought some brownies to her and sister Thomas. One thing about sister Thomas is that she told us she doesn't eat sugar. Another part of it is, we accidentally were at the wrong door for Linda. Because of those two things we were able to give some brownies to somone who wasn't expecting it which I felt really good about.   We had a baptism this Sunday so if you read any part of this, that will be the most exciting bit.. It's at the bottom. This week was a bit slow but I would still say it was good. One of us wasn't feeling well so getting out was a bit hard. Tuesday we had our District Council which we have each week. I gave our skills training about finding people to teach, I'm not sure how well I did but I felt like it was okay. Wednesday we had an exchange I was with an elder named Elder Biesinger and for his exercise in the morning he likes to run, so we went for a run that morning and it made me realise just how unfit I am currently Thursday we did our weekly planning and we worked on the program for our friend's baptism (more on that later) we also called/ messaged everyone who we needed to have participate in the baptism.   Found still in "drafts" I'm sure many of you have not heard yet but i have a new companion as my last one, Elder Danielson finished. My new companion is Elder Van and he's from Cambodia. I'll attempt to catch up from the previous weeks After Elder Danielson went home I went to the city with one of our Zone leaders until transfers happened. And I found that I don't really like the city too much it seems like many people like to ignore you. Additionally, I on one of the mornings I was there, we got a phone call from a man who decided to start yelling and swearing at us to which he added a nice threat as the cherry on top. Although I knew that he wouldn't carry out what he said, I couldn't help but keep an eye out for a guy with a green bag (which i heard he often carries) Sunday came and and we ended up being there the whole day.   Also in "drafts" [over 6 months ago] I know it's been a long time and unfortunately i just don't really like writing. But still, I will try and do better. For anyone who hasn't heard yet,  I've moved to a place called Seymour which isn't too far from where i was before. The first week I was here in Seymour we got a call at about 10.25 at night and we found out that it was a person who would really like to meet with us. We are really trying to get a time to meet with our friend who lives close by and we were able to see him on Friday. But very recently, he moved away from, and is no longer living with his partner. And from what he said on the phone he doesn't have anywhere to stay. He still said that he would like to come to church but because of his living situation it Is now much harder for him.  We were able to meet with our new member who was baptised before i came to the area and share some scriptures of comfort because she had to do something at...

  This has been one of the best transfers I've had. Being with Elder Danielson has been really good. Especially because he wants to work hard his last transfer. I think up to this point I want to care less what people think and I'm thinking about how Joseph Smith was told his name was to be had for good and evil. And I want to put forward my effort to keep pressing forward and living every day like its the day of the second coming. On Tuesday's, while we're on out way back to our area, and that has been going really well. I also think that it shows that we want to work even though we know that's what we want to do it's good for people to see that desire to work. Last week we were going back and stopped by a member who gave us a referral for one of his friends but he didn't seem interested at the time.
